Arsene Wenger has backed under-fire star Andrey Arshavin to recapture his best form and prove he is still one of the top talents in the Premier League.
Misfiring Arshavin has voiced concerns over his disappointing recent displays which have drawn criticism from some Arsenal fans.
The Russia international believes a crisis of confidence is the reason behind a string of ineffective performances for the Gunners this season.
But his boss remains unconcerned and believes Arshavin will soon be firing on all cylinders.
Wenger said: "If you look at the best passers in the Premier League he is still up there.
"Even the other night he has given two assists against Ipswich.
"Andrey is not as consistent technically as we are used to because it is a lack of confidence."
He added: "Sometimes we forget how good we are and more during times when we are conscious of it.
"Andrey is, at the moment, in that position so we have to remind him how good he is."
