Celtic's newest signing Kris Commons has rejected speculation he turned down the chance to join arch-rivals Rangers.
Gers boss Walter Smith confirmed his interested in the Derby ace prior to Commons holding successful transfer talks with Celtic.
Commons completed his permanent move to Parkhead on Friday and has immediately dispelled talk that Gers were in the frame.
The 27-year-old Scotland insists the figures being bandied around in the press could not have been further from the truth.
Commons is thrilled to be joining the SPL giants and hopes his time with The Bhoys are the best years of his career.
Easy decision
"No. I think it was mainly talk from yourselves (media). There was no talk from our side," explained Commons.
"The things that went in the press - the wages, the money - was all nonsense.
"Once I knew Celtic's interest, it was an easy decision for me.
"I would have chosen Celtic, no matter what. I would go as far as to say it's a dream come true.
"The opportunity to play in front of 60,000 people week in, week out is magnificent for me.
"It's a young talented squad and hopefully I will enhance that and give me my best footballing years of my career.
"I will try to create and make goals and hopefully I can show all my qualities."
