Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed that he hopes Paul Scholes will stay at the club for another year.
The 36-year-old has yet to commit his future to United as he weighs up whether to continue his playing career.
Fellow Old Trafford stalwart Ryan Giggs recently agreed a one-year extension on his contract and it now remains to be seen whether Scholes will follow suit and play on until he is 37.
However, following the news that veteran goalkeeper Edwin Van Der Sar is set to call time on his career in the summer, all eyes will be on Scholes who has a difficult decision to make.
The midfield maestro admitted recently that his future plans were up in the air, yet Ferguson is convinced Scholes still has more to give.
"Paul has not made up his mind," said the Scot.
"I hope he stays on for another year. I think he can do that but I will leave it with him."
