Gregory van der Wiel has revealed that he knows nothing of reported interest from Barcelona and expects to still be playing for Ajax next season.
The Dutchman's agent admitted earlier this week that his client's future was uncertain, with a number of clubs reportedly keen to secure a swoop either in January or the summer.
Van der Wiel is aware of speculation linking him with Barcelona but insists the transfer talk is nothing new.
And while he admits it is flattering to reportedly be on Barca's radar, he has no idea whether they are actually plotting an approach.
"It's on the internet, yes. But that's just the past 80 years there have been messages," he told AT5.
"Barcelona is definitely a nice club, but I know absolutely nothing of any interest in me."
Rumours suggest that Barca will turn to Van der Wiel if Brazilian right-back Dani Alves leaves Camp Nou.
Van der Wiel said: "But if Alves leaves, I still do not know what happens at that club. Myself, I just assume that I will play for Ajax next season."
