Oldham Athletic are hoping to secure a loan deal for West Bromwich Albion striker Reuben Reid.
The 22-year-old has yet to start a league game for the Baggies since his 2009 move from Rotherham United and spent the first half of this season on loan at Walsall.
He is now back at The Hawthorns, but Oldham boss Paul Dickov is keen to offer Reid another taste of first-team football at Boundary Park.
"A couple of years ago Reuben was going to be the next big thing when West Brom signed him from Rotherham for money," Dickov told the club's official website.
"They bought potential and he has done reasonably well, though he was never going to walk straight into their first team.
"I watched him two or three times earlier this season when he was on loan at Walsall and he was a threat, has raw pace and scores goals.
"He fits the bill what we are looking for and we believe he will be good for us as we will be good for him."
