Derby County have allowed David Martin to join Notts County on loan for a month.
The 25-year-old goes straight into Paul Ince's squad to face Carlisle on Saturday at Meadow Lane.
Martin arrived at Pride Park last February from Millwall on an initial three-month loan that was made permanent in the summer.
However, he has been reduced to a peripheral figure this year and has made just two substitute appearances this term for Nigel Clough's team.
The last of those came in early September against Sheffield United - prompting Ince to move for the out-of-favour winger and it is a loan Clough feels could kick-start his career.
"This is a great chance for David to go out and get some first-team football under his belt," he told the club's official website.
"He hasn't had that opportunity here this season and it will do him the world of good to and play week-in-week-out."
