Swindon Town look to have won the race to sign Alfreton Town defender Aden Flint in a £150,000 transfer.
Flint has been the target of several clubs in recent weeks and Alfreton had also accepted an offer from Swindon's League One rivals Colchester United.
However, the 21-year-old appears to have agreed a deal with the Robins and Alfreton hope Flint will be allowed to rejoin them on loan.
"Aden has chosen Swindon," Alfreton chairman Wayne Bradley told the Derby Evening Telegraph.
"We are now in negotiations to see if we can get him back for the remainder of the season."
Good business
Bradley added: "Aden has been the subject of interest from a lot of clubs in the Football League since the summer.
"We rejected an offer from Luton Town and Derby County were one of 10 or more clubs who were interested but I wouldn't budge on our valuation of the player.
"Colchester and Swindon both met that valuation last week and the offers were accepted.
"I believe this is good business for Alfreton Town Football Club and good business for the player."
