Hoffe hopeful on Babel while Ba talks are ongoing

Hoffenheim have confirmed that Ryan Babel has other options as well as joining the Bundesliga club this January. The Hoffe have agreed a £6million deal with Liverpool for the winger's services and hope to land his signature. However, Hoffenheim believe they are not the only club keen on the 24-year-old, who is now mulling over who to join. General manager Ernst Tanner knows that Babel is spoilt for choice and is not expecting a decision from the Dutchman soon. "Ryan Babel is in a situation where he is spoilt for choice," said Tanner. "He can decide to go to a couple of clubs. "As far as I am concerned, Babel isn't going to make a final decision on his next club this week. I don't expect a speedy decision."

Talks

Meanwhile, the club say they expect to lose want-away striker Demba Ba before the January transfer window closes. The Senegal international had been set to join Stoke before failing a medical, although the club say talks are ongoing. "Demba Ba is still having talks. He's eager to move away and we have the plan to offload him," he continued. "We have the desire to agree a permanent transfer. A loan move (of Demba Ba) would only be a number two choice from our point of view. Anyway, we are free to consider anything in this respect."
