Watt: Interesting Grayson
Leeds United manager Simon Grayson has confirmed he would be interested in retaining on-loan Sanchez Watt beyond the summer.
The Arsenal youngster is currently on a one-year loan from The Gunners and has been impressing of late with a fine goal in Saturday's 4-0 win over Scunthorpe.
Watt also featured against The Gunners in their 1-1 draw at Emirates Stadium and Grayson has been pleased with the youngster's showings recently.
Grayson is tipping the 19-year-old for a big future in the game and while he believes Watt is good enough to make it at Arsenal he would love to keep him at Elland Road.
"He's playing for his own future, wherever that might be. He's here until the end of the season and I'd think that ideally he'd like to make it at Arsenal," he told the Yorkshire Evening Post.
"But they've got some fantastic players and if he can't make it at Arsenal then hopefully there'll be an opportunity to come to us.
"He's done well for us and he deserves to be in the team on merit. It'll be strange for him if he scores against Arsenal but I hope he does."
A sell-out crowd is expected at Elland Road on Wednesday night for Leeds' cup replay with Arsenal and Watt is relishing the chance of playing in a partisan atmosphere.
The Gunners dismantled West Ham in Saturday's Premier League clash with a 3-0 win at Upton Park and Watt believes the team's best chance to win the game is to attack.
"It's going to be like a Champions League game," he told TheFa.com. "The fans deserve a night like this and if you get the chance, you have to attack.
"We've had some good games this season and it'll be great to see a good crowd in again.
"You can't throw too many forward because you can get exploited," he explained. "But we won't sit down and get beat. We'll attack and play with pride."
