Striker open to Dons stay

Skysports.com understands Aberdeen star Chris Maguire is ready to sit down and discuss a new deal at Pittodrie. Maguire is out of contract at the end of the season and could leave the club on a free transfer in the summer. A number of clubs in England and Scotland are thought to be monitoring Maguire's situation with the Scotland Under 21 international impressing this season with seven goals to date. Aberdeen director of football Willie Miller revealed earlier this week he feared losing Maguire on a free transfer, but the player's agent Willie McKay has revealed the skilful forward is ready to talk about a new contract at the club. "Chris is a lot happier at Aberdeen at present as the arrival of Craig Brown has been a real shot in the arm for him," McKay told skysports.com. "Chris is happy to sit down and talk with Aberdeen about a new contract and see what is on offer."
