Sheffield United have snapped up Aston Villa defender Shane Lowry on loan for the remainder of the season.
Lowry has made just three substitute appearances during his Villa career and had spells on loan at Plymouth Argyle and Leeds United last season.
He attracted interest from Derby County earlier in this campaign and had been chased by a string of clubs following the opening of the January transfer window.
However, he has secured a move to Bramall Lane and new Blades boss Micky Adams is happy to have brought in the Australian.
Adams told the club's official website: "He is young, enthusiastic, fits the profile we are looking for and I have watched him recently in Villa's reserves.
"He had a good loan spell at Leeds United last season so coming to a club like ours won't faze him."
Lowry joins West Brom full-back Joe Mattock in linking up with the Blades on loan and could make his debut in Saturday's game away to Coventry City.
The Blades have been hit by injury problems in defence and Adams is currently without Chris Morgan, Andy Taylor and Nyron Nosworthy.
