Blackburn striker Nick Blackman has linked up with Aberdeen on loan until the end of the season.
The 21-year-old spent the first half of this term at Motherwell and scored 10 times in 18 appearances.
Well had been keen to bring Blackman back to Fir Park but it is SPL rivals Aberdeen who have won the chase for his signature.
A key factor in the decision is likely to be the presence of manager Craig Brown in the Dons dugout following his switch from Motherwell.
Blackman is regarded as a key figure in Blackburn's long-term plans and recently signed a new deal to keep him at Ewood Park until 2013.
