Skysports.com understands that Sunderland have made a fresh move for Paris Saint Germain's want-away midfielder Stephane Sessegnon after making a permanent bid for his services.
The 26-year-old has clashed with coach Antoine Kombouare and is desperate to quit the Ligue 1 outfit.
However, PSG have so far stood firm over their insistence that they do not want him to leave the club.
Sessegnon met with PSG president Robin Leproux on Wednesday, but both parties refused to change their stance.
Now Sunderland are hoping that a permanent bid could help resolve the impasse and give Sessegnon the move he desires.
