Jackett will keep tabs on Arsenal midfielder's situation

Millwall boss Kenny Jackett has revealed an approach to sign Craig Eastmond on loan was turned down by Arsenal. Jackett was hoping to bring in the 20-year-old on a temporary basis having been a long-term admirer of the midfielder. However, Jackett is now waiting to see if the Gunners will agree to do a deal in the future for Eastmond, who has made three appearances this season. "We did make an enquiry about him but at the moment they are not letting him out," said Jackett in the News Shopper.

Bright future

"We will see now if it is viable in the future in terms of whether it suits them or whether it suits us. "Whether it is a possibility for the future I really don't know. "I've always liked him, I think he is a good young midfield player and has a bright future ahead of him. "With our injury crisis it might suit both parties for Craig to get games, but obviously that is not a possibility at the moment anyway."
