Kenny Miller's agent insists that Birmingham City are still in the running for Rangers' in-demand striker.
The Scotland international is out of contract in the summer and is being tipped to leave Ibrox during the January transfer window.
Birmingham appeared to be in pole position for his services after agreeing a fee, although Fiorentina have stolen a march on Alex McLeish's side.
Miller's agent David Baldwin has confirmed the Viola are interested in his client, but he has denied a deal has been agreed with the Italian club.
Baldwin has hinted the 31-year-old would relish the chance of playing in Italy, although nothing has as yet been confirmed.
"Has a deal been done with Fiorentina? I cannot confirm anything," he told firenzeviola.it.
"All I can say is there is very strong interest in him from Fiorentina and we're talking about it with Rangers.
"However, Birmingham are still in the running to sign the player.
"Would the player be happy going to Fiorentina? Who wouldn't want to play for a club like that?"
