Rodgers hoping to bring in Baggies striker

Brendan Rodgers has confirmed Swansea City are in talks to sign West Bromwich Albion striker Luke Moore on a permanent deal. Moore has recently completed a three-month loan stint at Derby County and scored four goals in 13 appearances during his time at Pride Park. Derby had agreed to extend the loan until the end of the season with West Brom, but Moore rejected the opportunity as he wants to keep his options open during the January transfer window. Swansea are now keen to sign the former Aston Villa youngster and manager Rodgers is waiting to see if a move comes to fruition.

Prime asset

Rodgers said: "There has been contact between us and West Brom. "The chairman has been working very hard with Dan Ashworth, their sporting director, so there is a lot of discussions going on. "There is nothing finalised as of yet but he is obviously a player that I like. He has pace, power and the ability of score goals. "He is still young at 24 and he is in prime asset age but it is still ongoing. If we were to take Luke, the agreement would be a permanent move." Meanwhile, Swansea midfielder Andrea Orlandi is out for a fortnight with a slight thigh strain and left-back Neil Taylor will be out for four weeks with a sprained ankle.
