Scunthorpe United have agreed a deal to sign Chelsea youngster Ben Gordon on loan for the rest of the season.
Gordon spent the first half of the campaign on loan at Kilmarnock and the full-back had been keen to see out the season with the SPL club.
However, Chelsea rejected Kilmarnock's request in order to send the 19-year-old out on loan to a Championship club and have now accepted an offer from Scunthorpe.
The defender will finalise his move later this month when he recovers from a hamstring injury and Iron boss Ian Baraclough is looking forward to having Gordon in his squad.
"Ben Gordon from Chelsea will be joining us eventually," Baraclough told the club's official website.
"He picked up a muscle strain in his final game for Kilmarnock so we'll have to wait and see on his fitness recovery with Chelsea, where he will be doing his rehabilitation.
"We await their response as to when he's ready."
Baraclough added: "It was us that went to Chelsea and asked the question.
"Chelsea see we're the right club to enhance his career. He's a bright lad who's comfortable on the ball."
