Scunthorpe United defender Michael Raynes is closing on a return to action to help the Iron's relegation fight.
The 23-year-old has been on the sidelines since pulling his thigh muscle in the defeat at Derby in November.
But the defender, who has been an unused substitute in the last two games, is nearing full fitness as the Iron battle to exit the Championship relegation zone.
He told Iron Player: "I've started running in the last couple of weeks so it's all uphill from here.
"I had a bit of a target in mind - just after the New Year. It's a bit before schedule because I was initially ruled out for six to eight weeks, but getting back before the six mark is a massive bonus.
"To be honest, these recent postponements have been perfect timing for me.
"The weather has been an absolute blessing because I've not missed many games due to all the cancellations."
