Harry Redknapp believes it would be best if Tottenham Hotspur defender Jonathan Woodgate joined a Championship club on loan.
Woodgate is nearing a return to action after spending over a year on the sidelines due to a troublesome groin injury.
Fears he could miss the entire 2010/11 season have been allayed and the 31-year-old is expected to head out on loan during the January transfer window.
Former clubs Middlesbrough and Leeds United have been linked with bids for the former England international and Redknapp expects high demand in the centre-half.
"There would be plenty of people interested, for sure," said Redknapp.
"He is one of the best centre-halves in the country if he is fit.
"I think he'd be happy to go and play in the Championship on loan because he has been out for a while. That would probably suit us better."
