Skysports.com understands Burnley are pondering a move to sign Derby County's unsettled defender Dean Leacock.
The 26-year-old attracted interest from West Bromwich Albion last week and his future at Pride Park appears in doubt following recent criticism from manager Nigel Clough.
Leacock's performance in last week's 5-2 defeat by rivals Nottingham Forest prompted Rams boss Clough to comment that the defender had offered 'absolutely nothing'.
The former Fulham man has been an unused substitute for Derby's subsequent two Championship games against Preston North End and Millwall.
Derby could now field a bid for Leacock from Burnley, who are currently without a manager following the recent sacking of Brian Laws.
