Morten Rasmussen insists he wants to finish the season at Mainz and is not looking to return to Celtic in January.
The Denmark international joined Mainz on a season-long loan in August, but has struggled for playing time with the Bundesliga club.
Mainz had suggested they would look to cut short the striker's loan deal after ruling out a permanent deal at the end of the campaign.
However, the 25-year-old is determined to fight for his place at Mainz and is not exploring the prospect of joining another club on loan.
"I have not asked to leave Mainz and my agent is not looking for a new club," said Rasmussen in the Daily Record.
"I will continue to stay here, work hard in training and fight for my place in the first team."
