Hull City manager Nigel Pearson is hoping to extend the loan deal of Arsenal goalkeeper Vito Mannone.
The Italian has impressed for the Tigers since breaking into the team in November and he has made seven appearances in the Championship.
His current loan deal is due to expire after Monday's game against Portsmouth, but Pearson wants to keep the 22-year-old at the KC Stadium.
Pearson has been pleased with Mannone's contribution during his time with the Tigers and is optimistic Arsenal will allow the keeper to stay.
"We're trying to get that loan deal finalised and we're hopeful," said Pearson in the Hull Daily Mail.
"He's done ever so well for us. I think he's enjoyed himself.
"He's a positive keeper. His demeanour is infectious and, as the results have shown, he's done a very good job here."
