David Moyes has ruled out any possibility of defender Leighton Baines moving to Bayern Munich.
The Everton boss is unsurprised by the interest shown in the in-form left-back, but has rubbished reports he might leave Goodison Park for the Bundesliga champions.
The former Wigan defender, who signed a five-year contract last summer has been strongly tipped for an England recall following some impressive displays this season.
However, Moyes is adamant the 26-year-old will not be moving, despite reports the Bavarian giants are preparing to table a £9million bid in January.
He said: "As far as I can see it can only be speculation.
"There has been no contact but it seems to have got quite a lot of headlines.
"He is in good form, undoubtedly. He is rightly getting admiration from big clubs but I can guarantee, to my office, there has been no contact.
"We don't let our top players go, we keep them."
The Scot also admitted he will have to concentrate on loans to strengthen his squad revealing LA Galaxy forward Landon Donovan has ruled out moving to Merseyside.
Everton were keen to re-sign the player who enjoyed a successful loan at Goodison during the MLS close season last year but the United States star stated he needed a rest after a long spell of continuous club and international football.
"He would have been good," said Moyes. "He would have fitted in quickly.
"When you bring people on loan how do you know they are going to settle or how long it is going to take?
"He came in and did it right away so my hope was you could have nearly thought of him as an injured player coming back after eight or nine months.
"But it's not to be and I understand his views and wishes.
"He said he might pop over to see us during his holiday but it will certainly not be to play."
