Bayern Munich president Karl-Heinz Rummenigge insists the club have yet to make an official bid for midfielder Luiz Gustavo.
According to recent media reports, the versatile 23-year-old looks set to join the defending Bundesliga champions at the end of the season.
Hoffenheim co-owner Dietmar Hopp revealed he would be prepared to allow the Brazilian to join the Bavarian giants in a deal reportedly worth £8.5million, despite opposition from head coach Ralf Rangnick.
However, Rummenigge has admitted being 'surprised' about the news and insists 'no decision' has been made as negotiations continue.
Rummenigge told Munchner Merkur daily: "I can confirm that discussions have taken place but a decision has not yet been taken."
German millionaire Hopp had said he 'was clear as spring water that Luiz Gustavo would join Bayern during the summer'.
"Mr Hopp's comments surprised me," Rummenigge added. "We are considering things, but we are not making a move just yet."
