Preston North End have extended the loan deals of Stoke City duo Danny Pugh and Michael Tonge by a further month.
The midfield pair have both made four starts in the Championship since moving to Deepdale on an initial month-long deal in November.
Lilywhites boss Darren Ferguson had been anxious to hang on to both players and Pugh is happy to be staying on at Deepdale.
"It would have been a shame for us to have played four games and gone back, so I am pleased to be able to extend my stay and get a few more games." Pugh told the club's official website.
"Every game at the moment is massive, each game that we play in is important and that makes it better for the players.
"We have laid a foundation and now we need to build on that. We have done nothing yet; we need to now just build on the win from the weekend in order to climb up the table."
Tonge added: "I'm delighted to be staying for another few games; I have been really enjoying it. Recently we have had some encouraging results and I hope that it can continue.
"With there being so many games in such a short space of time, if you can pick up results in this period then you can push yourselves up the table, which is what we are looking to do."
