Swedish striker wants regular starting spot

On-loan striker Marcus Berg admits he is growing frustrated with warming the bench at PSV this season. The Sweden international, who arrived in Eindhoven on a season-long loan deal from Hamburg in the summer, has seen his playing time become limited of late, with young Brazilian Jonathan Reis preferred up front by coach Fred Rutten. Berg, who is unlikely to be recalled to Bundesliga club Hamburg in the January transfer window, admits he is craving regular first-team action. "Jonathan Reis got the chance to prove his worth during my suspension and he's done a good job," Berg, who has scored three goals in 11 Eredivisie appearances so far this season, told Voetbal International. "I've been warming the bench ever since. This is a very frustrating situation for me. "I always do my utmost on the training pitch and I feel like I deserve a starting berth. I didn't come here to warm the bench, but that's my current situation. All I can do is continue to work hard on the training pitch and score in the playing time I get. "I haven't heard anything about returning to Hamburg during the winter break. I'll stay here until the end of the season as far as I know. I'm not giving up just yet and I'm hopeful of getting another chance in the near future."
