Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez has refused to confirm Leeds midfielder Bradley Johnson is wanted by the club.
Johnson has been linked with a move to The Latics while Burnley, Sheffield United and Stoke are also said to be in the hunt.
The talented 23-year-old has been transfer listed at Leeds after failing to agree a new long-term deal at Elland Road.
However, when questioned whether Martinez could be interested in the star in the New Year, he remained non-committal.
"There are going to be a lot of names thrown at us and a lot of speculation," said Martinez.
"I think we will speak about the window when it arrives but at the moment it is too early."
