Warnock to let Mikele go

Neil Warnock would not prevent Mikele Leigertwood from securing a permanent move away from QPR.

Midfielder has become a target for QPR supporters

Neil Warnock admits he would not prevent Mikele Leigertwood from securing a permanent move away from Queens Park Rangers in January. Leigertwood joined Reading on loan last month after failing to start a game in the Championship for QPR this season. He had become a target for the QPR supporters and Warnock is disappointed at the way the midfielder's career at Loftus Road appears to be drawing to a close. The Rs manager told the Fulham Chronicle: "He has had moments at Loftus Road where fans are very quick to get on his back, which I think is sad really. But that's why I decided to let him go on loan. "He always gives 100 per cent, whatever he does, and is an unsung hero, who goes about his job in the right way. "But it's very difficult when people are waiting on your first mistake. I think it has affected his confidence. "I'm not forcing him out, he knows that but if he can find a good club, he deserves it, because he doesn't deserve to be picked on every time he makes a mistake."
