Craig Gardner feels it is important that Birmingham City manager Alex McLeish brings in new signings next month.
Birmingham have endured a difficult second season back in the Premier League and sit 16th in the table, just two points outside the relegation zone.
McLeish's side have won just three times in 17 matches and Gardner is concerned about the impact of upcoming games against the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United, plus a two-legged Carling Cup semi-final.
The midfielder is happy with the players currently at McLeish's disposal, but believes more strength in depth is required when the transfer window reopens.
Gardner said in the Birmingham Mail: "We do need bodies. We need players in, end of story.
"We've got a brilliant set of lads, but we have a lot of games coming up now.
"After Christmas people may well be fatigued and hopefully we will be able to bring in one or two new faces and kick on from there."
