Bayern Munich midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger has welcomed his club's interest in Schalke goalkeeper Manuel Neuer.
The Germany No.1 has been linked with a move to the Allianz Arena as he currently has just 18 months remaining on his contract at Schalke.
He has yet to make a decision regarding his long-term future and Schalke remain hopeful that Neuer will sign an extension to his deal.
Schweinsteiger, who committed his own future to Bayern over the weekend, believes the Bundesliga champions could only benefit from signing Neuer.
"We don't have a problem in goal at the moment but with Manuel Neuer, we would have the opportunity to bring the best German goalkeeper to the club," he told Sport1 television.
"I am always in favour of FC Bayern having the best German players."
