Juventus have dismissed speculation regarding a move for Alberto Gilardino in exchange for Amauri.
Fiorentina striker Gilardino has been linked with a switch to Turin and reports suggested that one way to sign him would be as part of a swap deal involving Amauri.
Amauri has been out of action in recent weeks due to injury but Juve are adamant that the Brazilian-born frontman remains an integral part of their plans.
General director Giuseppe Marotta also maintains that Gilardino is not on the club's radar at present.
"I can confirm these are baseless reports because we have never spoken with Fiorentina and we have never spoken with the player's agent," Marotta told Sky Italia.
"Amauri is recovering from a knee injury and we hope to recover him for the final part of the season."
Juventus manager Luigi Del Neri, meanwhile, has defended his recent comments about goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon.
Del Neri's statement that Buffon could not be guaranteed a starting spot when he returns from injury upset the goalkeeper's agent but he insists he did not mean to be critical.
"He remains a great Juve player," Del Neri told reporters after Sunday's victory over Lazio.
"My thought was about the group and he is a part of it like the others.
"He knows my ideas and the respect I have for him."
