Steven Davis has pleaded with the banks that control Rangers' finances not to force out more players at Ibrox.
The 25-year-old midfielder fears the worst as the Lloyd's Group are thought to be keen on slashing £1million off the club's budget.
The situation could lead to a number of Walter Smith's men heading for the exit door during the impending transfer window.
The news comes shortly after it was revealed contract talks had broken down with key striker Kenny Miller.
"If we lose more, it will be a real headache for the manager," Davis told the Daily Record.
"We want to keep this squad together and even add to it in January. That would be great."
