George Burley admits he may make a renewed attempt to bring Queens Park Rangers midfielder Martin Rowlands to Crystal Palace.
Palace tried to sign Rowlands on loan before last month's deadline, but were unable to conclude a deal for the fit-again Republic of Ireland international.
QPR boss Neil Warnock is keen for Rowlands to head out on loan to build up his fitness following a long-term knee injury, but the player is currently happy to stay at Loftus Road.
Burley confirmed his previous interest in the 31-year-old and is weighing up another move for Rowlands when the transfer window reopens.
"Martin Rowlands is a quality player and I did speak to Neil about him before the deadline," said Burley in the Croydon Advertiser. "He could be one we go back to.
"He's certainly the type of player we are looking for. He's proven and experienced at this level.
"We have a lot of young players and we're looking for them to push on, but it's a tough division and it's important to have some older heads in there as well."
