Marseille boss Didier Deschamps is confident of tying up a deal for Rennes defender Rod Fanni in the next few days.
The French champions have lined up a deal for the highly-rated right-back to help fill the void created by Cesar Azpilicueta's knee injury.
Rennes are resigned to losing Fanni with the player keen to move on in next month's transfer window
Fanni has been linked with a number of other clubs, including Liverpool and Atletico Madrid, but Deschamps is optimistic he can soon secure the services of the France international.
"Within a few hours, I do not know, a few days - I hope so," Deschamps told TF1.
"The player wants to come and I think the bosses will make the necessary efforts for this to happen."
