The former Watford playmaker has been out since April with a back injury, but featured in his first reserve outing last week.

However, having only managed 30 minutes, he believes that he just needs to get more games under his belt before a first-team recall.

He told skysports.com: "It has been seven months since my last first-team game, but I've been through three operations and a lot of rehab to build up my core again, so it has been a busy period for me.

"Now I am feeling really good again and I'm not far away from being available for the first-team again, but the weather has held me back a little recently.

"I've played one reserve game, against Chesterfield, and I came through 30 minutes of that with no problems.

"I also played in a 40-minute 11-a-side training game yesterday and that went fine as well, so everything is going well, but arranging reserve games is a problem at the moment due to the weather.

"I think that if I can get in another 45 and two full 90-minute run-outs in the reserves I will be ready for a recall to the first-team, so it depends how soon those games come really as to when I can make myself available for selection."
