Hull City are hoping Ian Ashbee and Daniel Ayala will be fit for Saturday's Championship trip to Crystal Palace.
Ashbee's return to the side over the past month has coincided with the Tigers' four-match unbeaten run, but he is carrying an Achilles injury.
The problem would have ruled the captain out of the weekend's postponed clash with leaders Queens Park Rangers, but he is making good progress in his recovery.
Assistant manager Craig Shakespeare told the Hull Daily Mail: "Ian would have been touch and go for the QPR game. But that extra break might just do him the world of good.
"It wasn't as serious as we first thought it might be but it was still looking like a struggle at the weekend.
"Hopefully he, like a few players in the squad, will benefit from not having a game and he'll be okay for Crystal Palace."
On-loan defender Ayala could also figure at Selhurst Park as he looks to shake off a recent hamstring injury.
