Goalkeeper Shay Given has called on Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini to let him leave Eastlands in January.
Given, 34, is desperate for regular first-team football and has set his sights on a loan move away from City.
The Republic of Ireland international has made just three starts this season - none in the Premier League - after losing his place to Joe Hart.
And Given said: "I don't know what City are thinking.
"But on a personal level even to go on loan for a few months, to be playing again, would be good.
"Because I do miss that feeling of playing and the buzz you get from that."
