Stephen Jordan has handed Sheffield United an injury headache with the news he will be out until after Christmas.
The full-back is currently nursing ankle ligament damage suffered in Saturday's 3-0 defeat to Bristol City.
He will definitely sit out the entire festive period of fixtures and is not expected to be ready for a first-team return until the New Year.
Jordan joined the Blades as a free agent over the summer, following his release by Burnley, and is no stranger to injury problems.
His three seasons with the Clarets were disrupted at regular intervals by spells on the sidelines and he is now facing up to another stint on the treatment table.
United boss Gary Speed told the Sheffield Star: "Stephen is going to be missing for quite a while unfortunately.
"We were keeping our fingers crossed that it wouldn't be too bad but the usual timescale for this type of thing is just over a month."
