Swansea striker Craig Beattie insists rumours of a move to Championship rivals Ipswich are 'hearsay'.
Speculation started in September that Tractor Boys boss Roy Keane was about to make a move to sign the 26-year-old on loan.
Keane knows Beattie from his time at Celtic and is thought to be an admirer of the Scotland international, but the fit-again forward insists he was never close to leaving Brendan Rogers' side.
Beattie - who has come back from injury to feature six times for the Swans, including scoring in the recent 2-1 home defeat to Portsmouth - says he has the utmost respect for Keane ahead of the two sides' clash at Portman Road on Saturday.
He told the South Wales Evening Post: "I wasn't even back fit (after a calf injury) when the rumour started.
"I'd been training for a couple of days after a three-month lay-off, so I was a bit flattered I was being mentioned. But it was just hearsay.
"I have a massive amount of respect for him (Keane). He achieved so much in the game and he is a winner and a real good guy.
"He is hungry and very determined to succeed."
