Chris Brunt believes West Brom have a good chance of reaching Wembley - but accepts he may not help get them there.
Roberto Di Matteo's side take on Ipswich in Wednesday's quarter-final at Portman Road - one of three potential fixtures between the Baggies and Wembley.
Brunt has been rested for each of the Baggies' three ties in the competition so far and accepts it could happen again.
But while the winger respects Di Matteo's selection policy, he hopes to feature and play his part in what would be a notable achievement.
He said: "Obviously the gaffer has rested a lot of lads and played the lads that haven't been playing a lot of football in the Carling Cup.
"They have done really well to get this far and I am sure he will probably be looking to do the same thing again.
"We'll see what happens but we have got a good chance of getting to Wembley.
"If we can overcome Ipswich on Wednesday we are only two games away from a major cup final. That would be a good achievement and a day out for the supporters.
"We'll be going down there and trying to win the game.
"If we were to get to the cup final and win it, for a player it is something to put on your CV."
