Aleksandar Kolarov is confident Manchester City can match Stoke's physical approach this weekend.
City travel to the Britannia Stadium fresh from their commanding 4-1 win at Fulham on Sunday.
However, three visits to the Potters in the past two seasons have yielded only a solitary Premier League point on top of their FA Cup defeat last term.
And as well as having the stats on their side, Tony Pulis' men have secured three successive wins, an impressive record they will be keen to maintain.
Left-back Kolarov is aware that City cannot afford to lose the momentum that has now seen them climb within three points of the top of the table.
And the hard-tackling Serb insists Roberto Mancini's men will relish the challenge of equalling the Potters' tough approach.
"I am fine with the physical side of the game here," Kolarov told City's official website. "Stoke especially play hard and are a very physical team.
"But we are strong as well. We can match them and battle as well as play football.
"I have seen a lot of their games on TV so I know how they play.
"They do very well at home but I think we are better than them."
