Hugo Almeida claims Werder Bremen will be going all out for the win when they face Tottenham on Wednesday.
The German club know anything less than three points at White Hart Lane will bring a premature end to their UEFA Champions League adventure.
They currently sit bottom of Group A, with five points separating them from joint-leaders Spurs and Inter Milan and only two games remaining.
Portugal international Almeida insists all is not lost for Bremen, though, and believes they are still capable of securing a surprise passage into the knockout stages.
He told skysports.com: "For us the match against Tottenham is a must-win. Only victory will give us the chance to keep our Champions League dream alive.
"We know it will be difficult to win in an English stadium but we go there with that mission because nobody wants to be knocked out.
"Spurs have an excellent squad and are dangerous at home but we need to prove to our fans that we are willing to fight until the end.
"I repeat that our goal is to win. We have spoken positively in the dressing room and I want to warn Spurs that this will be a different Bremen that they are about to face.
"We have not played well until this point but we could still alter the future if we are able to take six points from our next two games."
Almeida concedes that Spurs will be on a high following their North London derby heroics on Saturday, but believes Bremen can match Harry Redknapp's side for spirit.
"I fully expect there to be goals in this match because Spurs are an offensive team and we need to score," he added.
"We have seen Tottenham's game against Arsenal and the spirit Spurs showed in the second half is what we need to show for 90 minutes.
"If we can do that, then maybe we can pick up the three points in London."
