Bayern Munich ace Franck Ribery insists he will not regain top form unless he is featuring regularly for the Bundesliga giants.
The France international has recently made his comeback from an ankle injury, although his displays have not pleased coach Louis van Gaal.
The experienced Dutch tactician is reportedly disappointed with Ribery's commitment, claiming he 'didn't make an effort'.
Ribery is upset at Van Gaal's remarks and believes that if he has an issue that he should speak to the player in private.
Talks
"It would have been better if he had said it direct to my face," said Ribery. "I've got to play a full game.
"If I only play 25 or 30 minutes, then I will never get 100 per cent back to my best level.
"I cannot say I have much fun with him or that I have a special relationship with him. I do my job and he does his.
"I have got to be able to talk with him and have fun with him. If I cannot do that, then it cannot work on the pitch either."
