Dutch midfielder keen to take in second spell in Germany

Rafael van der Vaart is happy at Tottenham but admits he would like to return to Hamburg in the future. The Dutch midfielder enjoyed three productive years with the German giants between 2005 and 2008. His form in Germany earned him a high-profile switch to Real Madrid and helped to establish him as one of Europe's top talents. Van der Vaart was, however, unable to take his form with him to Spain and opted to move on again over the summer when Tottenham came calling. He is happy that he made the right choice in moving to White Hart Lane but has revealed that he hopes to take in a second spell at Hamburg at some stage in his career.

No regrets

"My decision to move here was the best thing to do," Van der Vaart told Kicker-Sportmagazin. "I do not regret moving over here. We are doing well in the league and Spurs are a top side in the Premiership. "It is, however, a fact that I want to play for Hamburg again. I have been told that I will always be welcome back there. "I think I will rejoin the club in the future. Last summer I was not handed the opportunity because the financial circumstances were not right at that point, but maybe in the future they will be."
