Eidur Gudjohnsen will not be leaving Stoke City to build up his match fitness, according to Potters manager Tony Pulis.
Reports had linked the Icelandic forward with a loan move to Championship hopefuls Reading.
But boss Pulis has dismissed these claims and believes the former Chelsea and Barcelona star will make his mark at the Britannia Stadium.
He said: "Eidur will play his part. It might not be initially, but I'm sure he will play his part.
"He isn't happy because he wants to play, but with the team playing well even Eidur would have to realise he's got to be patient."
