Greg Cunningham is set to start for Republic of Ireland in their friendly date with Norway on Wednesday.
The 19-year-old will be drafted in at left-back as coach Giovanni Trapattoni rings the changes.
The Irish have seen their plans ravaged by injuries, giving Cunningham, who is currently on loan at Leicester from Manchester City, an opportunity to earn his third senior cap.
Ipswich loan star Darren O'Dea, who is on the books at Celtic, will partner Manchester United's John O'Shea at the heart of the defence, with Stephen Kelly on the right.
Liam Lawrence, Keith Fahey, Glenn Whelan and Damien Duff will line up across midfield, offering Trapattoni considerable experience.
Kevin Doyle, who has been given the go-ahead to play after undergoing a scan on a broken bone in his hand, will be joined by Reading's Shane Long in attack.
Manchester City goalkeeper Shay Given, who will welcome the run-out following his lack of action at Eastlands, will wear the captain's armband in the absence of Robbie Keane.
