Blackpool midfielder salutes performance at Upton Park

Charlie Adam has praised Blackpool's 'effort and desire' following the goalless draw against West Ham. The Seasiders have claimed several impressive results already this season, beating Wigan, Newcastle and Liverpool away from home. But Adam was also delighted to pick up a point against the Hammers on Saturday even though Avram Grant's side are currently bottom of the table. The Scottish midfielder came close to breaking the deadlock at Upton Park with a lob from just inside the West Ham half as both sides played their part in an entertaining encounter. The match ended in a 0-0 stalemate but Adam was again delighted with Blackpool's fearless spirit. "We've hopefully shown we're capable of coming to a great club and getting a result," he said in The Sun.

Tough

"The effort and desire we showed was terrific. Hopefully it's a valuable point. It's tough to come here. "We do our thing for Blackpool, and West Ham is a famous club and they have good players. It's vital they keep doing what they do and we do what we do. "It's a point added to the tally we want to get to. It's a good point. "We'll go and reflect on it and then get ready for the next game."
