Bayern Munich have a 'positive outlook' on injured winger Arjen Robben after he returned to light training.
The 26-year-old has been ruled out so far this season after sustaining a hamstring injury during Holland's final warm-up game before the World Cup in the summer.
Robben did, however, recover to play a part in South Africa, prompting Bayern to accuse the Dutch Football Association of misdiagnosing his injury.
The Bundesliga giants, in the absence of Robben and France international Franck Ribery, have made little impact in the league this season and currently sit ninth in the standings.
However, Robben has recently returned to the club's training ground and has participated in running sessions ahead of his expected comeback in the New Year.
"Robben has returned to a positive outlook on the whole," Bayern coach Louis van Gaal told AD Sportwereld.
"We are at least working towards a time when Arjen can play again."
