Chris Smalling has thanked Manchester United team-mates Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic for their tutoring to date.
Smalling arrived at Old Trafford from Fulham in July this year and has impressed since the switch, making seven appearances in all competitions so far.
The 20-year-old centre-back's most recent display saw him help United to a clean sheet in a 3-0 win over Bursaspor in the UEFA Champions League.
And Smalling has expressed his gratitude to experienced defenders Ferdinand and Vidic for their mentoring.
"The likes of Rio and Vida have been brilliant," said Smalling.
"They help guide you through games and I am learning from them all the time.
"They deserve credit too. They have really helped me to settle in and my confidence is sky high at the moment."
Smalling has also welcomed praise from manager Sir Alex Ferguson, who is tipping the stopper for a bright future.
"It has been great to hear those words from the manager," said Smalling.
"For him to be saying things like that feels brilliant. Hopefully I can repay the faith.
"I just want to get more games under my belt and kick on from here."
