Adam Hammill has hinted he will turn down a January move in favour of helping Barnsley win promotion.

Barnsley winger has no thoughts of jumping ship

Barnsley star Adam Hammill has hinted he will turn down any potential New Year moves in favour of helping the club win promotion. The former Liverpool winger was again the stand-out performer as he tormented Hull City in the team's 1-1 Championship draw at Oakwell on Saturday. Hammill opened the scoring with a blistering drive from distance and his skill and guile were a constant source of anguish for Nigel Pearson's men throughout the contest. There have been reports Barnsley's resolve will be tested when the transfer window reopens, although the 22-year-old is simply focusing on helping the South Yorkshire side win promotion.

Enjoyment

"I just want to continue playing well for Barnsley," explained Hammill. "I enjoy my football here and the fans are great with me. "This club is ambitious. Burnley and Blackpool have shown what you can do with good players and some good team spirit - and we've got both here. "If we can get up there to the top end of the table by Christmas, then who knows what we can achieve?"
